Star Wars: Episode II gained speed over Episode I, but still some scenes take too long. Other scenes however go too fast. The special effects are quite good and Natalie Portman raises the rating of the movie with a full point all by herself. Which makes it a 7.5.
Star Wards: Episode 1 was the 4th movie in the Star Wars Saga but the first on internal Chronology. It was also the first I saw and I was actually positively surprised. It’s a cult movie and it’s a good one. The concept is clear the scenes are entertaining. References are interesting, the play is good. It’s a good movie! I rate it an 8.
Black Hawk Down sucks you into combat situations in the 90s in Somalia. The scenes feel very realistic. Too realistic for me. Saving Privat Ryan is easy compared to this. After almost 2 hours I had seen enough and turned it off. It’s just not my genre.

The Prestige is a movie about 2 men performing their magic. Where does the magic take you? And where does the magic stop?
The playing is good, the script is original, the atmosphere is strange in a good way. tension is nice. I rate it with an 8.
“An IMDB rating of 8.2 can only result in watching a great movie.” FALSE. Into the Wild is different then an ordinary Hollywood film. But in the meantime it is not. The story of a boy growing up and deciding to make something out of his life and do things different then his parents might be interesting. In this case it is not. The different characters including the main one are just stereotypes which makes their interaction predictable. The personas never get my sympathy. The story line is simple and superficial. The play is not convincing. The only thing worth seeing is the nature in which the scenes are shot.

A Narrator (voice of Christopher Evan Welch) describes the two friends: Vicky is practical and traditional in her approach to love and commitment. Cristina, on the other hand, is spontaneous and unsure of what she wants in life.

This movie is about love and how people influence each other. It’s not brilliant, it’s even predictable. But for some reason you keep watching.
