The Filmmachine is a piece of software which is meant to make it easy to create a video-dvd (or svcd) out of a divx (or xvid) movie. The thought is very good, because I haven’t found a freeware program that is able to let a user select a file, enter subtitles, divide the movie into chapters, optimize the use of the complete dvd for optimal quality and do this in a single, easy to use program.
The Filmmachine does promise this. And it looked nice when I first used it. Initial configuration was quite easy and afterwards I could create as much dvd’s as I wanted. At least, that’s what I thought. The proces failed for the first, second and last time I tried. Unfortunately, the search for a freeware tool to create dvd’s continous. The Filmmachine isn’t a good enough (yet).
