When you’re listening a CD or watching a DVD you disc drive, either cd-rom or dvd-rom, can get quit noisy. This is due to the high speeds they can reach while reading your disc. The problem is, you don’t want that noise to disturb your experience. Should reading a disc be on such high reading speeds?
The answer is no.
High speed cd or dvd reading is not necessary for listening to music or watching a movie. Ahead Software, the makers of Nero Burning Rom, designed a freeware tool to force your pc to read the discs at low speed which will eliminate the noise.
