Last Friday I visited a concert of Johan. They announced the end of the band so this would be their farewell tour and a final opportunity to see them live. When arriving in the Oosterpoort in Groningen, the pre-act just started. I did not like it at all so I quickly left the concert hall to get a drink. Wen the main dish finally arrived it was obvious that unlike the support act, Johan did know how to make some good noise. From my perspective they started a bit too enthousiastic though.
The first couple of songs came to me as one big wave of sound while I like Johan because of their sophisticated different sounds together forming a composition. This improved halfway the concert but I never encountered the finesse I knew from the cd’s.
