A Clint Eastwood directed film with Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon in the cast can’t be bad. So Invictus is indeed worth seeing. But it isn’t great either…
Invictus can be regarded as a sports film. It can also be regarded as historical, political, or even feel-good. But most of all it’s about Mandela’s battle against racial segregation.
Morgan Freeman is convincing as Mandela. The rugby world-cup is never really exciting. But that’s also just the podium to show Mandela’s battle. However, for being just a podium it’s getting quite some attention. Therefore I ‘ only’ rate the movie with a 7.
